Harbourside Painters of Canada
Chapter Profile

Harbourside Painters of Canada (Oakville Ontario) is a chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters (SDP) that was formed in January 2007 by a group of decorative painters who wish to share their love of painting with others.  We are a non-profit organization of painters at all levels from beginners to teachers. Our aim is to stimulate interest and appreciation for decorative art through fellowship and learning opportunities.

The group meets 10 months of the year and take July and August off to enjoy the warm weather, be with our families and recharge our batteries!  Our monthly meetings include a paint-in to provide hands-on development of skills, a sharing of ideas, new trends and tools, as well as a chance to socialize.  Our styles are varied and can include acrylic, watercolour, pen & ink, florals, primitive, landscape, whimsy, and many more.

Harbourside membership fees are $25 annually. At each meeting, there is also a fee charged of $5 for members and $7 for guests. Since we are a chapter of SDP, all members must also join SDP who offer a great many services.  They publish a lovely painting magazine for members only 4 times per year and host an annual painting convention.  Their website is www.decorativepainters.org.

Our group is committed to partner with community organizations through programs such as Memory Boxes (Trillium Hospital) and Treasure Boxes (Hospital for Sick Children).

We hold seminars periodically on a weekend that offer wonderful teachers and a wide range of projects.  These are not only open to our own members but to members of other painting groups or individuals in the area who would like to participate.

We would love to have you join our group!  To learn more about Harbourside Painters of Canada, please access our website at www.harboursidepainters.com.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact any member of the executive team as shown on the website.
